An Early Childhood Development Practitioner plans and prepares early childhood activities, facilitates and mediates learning, observes and assesses the progress of children, and reflects on learning in an inclusive, play-based environment to support holistic development of children (from conception – school going) in different centre-based or non-centre-based settings.
The programme is divided into five modules covering the following:
- Introduction to Early Childhood development
- Plan and prepare inclusive activities
- Facilitate early childhood development
- Observe and assess progress
- ECD Centre management
The programme consists of:
- Facilitator led online knowledge modules
- Facilitator led online practical modules
- Workplace based learning modules (56 compulsory workplace based days)
- External Integrated Summative Assessment (exam)
