A Software Developer analyses a set of requirements, translates these into a working software solution using a programming language. They test, implement and maintain software applications to meet client specifications as well as functional and technical requirements.
The programme is divided into eight modules covering the following:

- Software development with HTML5
- Unified Modelling Language (UML)
- Foundations of Data Querying and Presentation
- Software development life cycle
- Software developer in the workplace
- Applied software development
The programme consists of:
- Facilitator led online knowledge modules

- Workplace based learning modules (82 compulsory workplace-based days)
